Volleyball Shows Improvement at LA Mission Tournament

The Citrus College Women's Volleyball team showed signs of improvement at the LA Mission College 4th Quad Tournament. 

On Saturday, the Owls traveled to LA Mission College for two games with hopes of picking up their first win of the season. 

Game one came against Mt. San Jacinto (0-3) who were also looking for their first win of the season. The Owls battled but came up short against the Eagles who won in straight sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-12). Citrus was led by Tara Biscan who earned 11 kills and Raegen Johnson who had 14 assists. Isabel Luna had 13 digs while Alexia Avalos earned eight digs. 

Game two of the day was a contested battle against Victor Valley College. The Owls lost the first two sets (25-21, 25-20) of the game before winning the third set (25-21), their first set win of the season. Led by eight kills from Tara Biscan, six kills from Aaliyah Astilla, five kills from Alexia Avalos and 27 digs from Isabel Luna, the Owls kept the game close. Citrus showed signs of improvement but overall could not hold off Victor Valley in the fourth set as they fell (25-16) to move to 0-4 on the season as the Rams improved to 1-1. 

Citrus College Volleyball will look to get their first win when they travel to Ventura College on September 13th for a game at 6:00 p.m.
