She then saw an early lead disappear again in the third set tiebreak, even fighting off match point and winning 11-9 to take the third set and the match. #6 Genesis Vasquez lost 3-6, 4-6.
Coach Webb noted, "I was very impressed with Ari's win today, particularly after she lost the lead, then the first set, and then getting out to a lead only to face match point in the third set tiebreak before pulling it out. That type of effort will serve her well as we move towards the Conference Tournament."
"Kaelin also did a great job in singles, getting out to a lead and not looking back. Overall, we continue to see progress and will keep working until we can put it all together as a whole team," Webb added.
The Marauders are now 2-14 overall and 0-10 in Western State Conference play. Next up for the Marauders is a conference road match vs. LA Mission College on Tuesday, March 19th, at 2:00 PM.
