TORRANCE - The Marauder baseball could only muster three hits in a 12-1 loss to El Camino College, Saturday afternoon.
The Marauders lone run came in the 9th inning when right-fielder Timothy Dodd singled in Tyler Pittmon, who doubled in the inning. Michael Behen was the only other AVC to get a hit in addition to Dodd and Pittmon. The Marauders were held to only one hit up until the 9th inning.
El Camino's Cassius Hamm pitched four scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and six strikeouts. Hamm was relieved by Sebastian Sanchez who pitched three scoreless innings without allowing a hit a striking out two.
AVC's starter, Arturo Sanchez, was roughed up in the game as he allowed six earned runs on eight hits. Sanchez did have three strikeouts.
El Camino got on the board in the bottom of the first inning, 3-0, on a couple of RBI singles. Jake Sahagian went 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored for El Camino, which pounded out 17 hits on the afternoon.
In two games so far this season, AVC has been outscored 22-4.
