SANTA CLARITA – Danae Banuelos and Anjolie Cibrian both had double-doubles to help lead Porterville College to a 69-45 non-conference win at College of the Canyons on Saturday.
The Pirates put an end to a three-game losing streak and improved to 6-9 overall.
A 24-point, second-quarter by PC gave the Pirates a commanding 39-21 advantage that they wouldn't give up.
Banuelos posted her 12th double-double of the season as she had team-highs of 15 points and 10 rebounds to go along with 6 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks. Cibrian had 12 points and 10 boards for her double-double.
PC also got big contributions from Jada Bravo (15 points) and Andrea Perez (13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals).
Porterville is back in action on Wednesday (Jan. 8) at 5 p.m. when the Pirates open Central Valley Conference play at Merced College.
