For the first time since 2019, the Cerritos College women's soccer team has strung together three consecutive wins. The Falcons posted a 3-0 South Coast Conference win over East Los Angeles College on Friday to improve to 4-8-4 overall and 3-3-0 in conference play. They currently sit in third place in the SCC South Division and will travel to second place El Camino College (7-5-3; 3-2-1) for a 1:30 p.m. game next Tuesday.

Cerritos opened the scoring in the 12th minute when freshman Jessica Arroyo (Buena Park HS) sent a crossing pass to freshman Ariana Rivera (Long Beach Wilson HS), who was able to tap the ball into the net for the first of her two tallies on the day.

Prior to halftime, the Falcons doubled up on their lead when Arroyo collected her second assist on the day when her pass through the Compton defense landing on the foot of freshman Sariah Sanchez (La Sierra HS), who chipped the ball into the back of the net. The scoring closed out in the 71st minute, as sophomore defender Deanne Casillas (Warren HS) controlled the ball near midfield and found Rivera unguarded outside the 18-yard box. A quick touch by Rivera was followed by a rolling shot into the far corner for her team-leading seventh goal.

The defense did not allow a shot all day, so freshman goalkeeper Trinidad Arizmendi (El Rancho HS) was not asked to make a save.
