Owls Fall to Wildcats

Citrus College Women's Basketball suffered a 66-56 loss to West Los Angeles College last night, Saturday, January 25th. 

Citrus College moves to 13-7 overall on the season and 4-2 in conference games, while West LA College goes to 10-8 overall and 2-2 in conference. 

The Owls led by eight points early in the first quarter but could not find their rhythm as the Wildcats went ahead to put the game out of reach in the second half. Citrus College struggled shooting from the field, going 21-of-63 while shooting only 7-of-24 from three-point range. West LA shot 41% from the field and 40% from three-point range while outrebounding Citrus 44-36. The Wildcats hit 12-of-16 free throws while the Owls hit 7-of-12 free throws. 

Citrus was led by Breanna Escobedo who scored 13 points with five assists and two rebounds. Kristin Morella scored 13 points off the bench and added two steals, one assist and one rebound. Jolleen Olia scored 12 points with a game-high five steals, six rebounds and four assists. Deija Mitchell had eight points, five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal off the bench. 

Citrus College will travel to Glendale College this Wednesday, January 29th for a conference matchup at 5 p.m.
