SAN MARCOS, CA (10/4/2024) -- On a night dedicated to honoring their sophomores, the Palomar College women's soccer team delivered a commanding 7-1 victory over San Diego City College. Sophomore Ashley Clark stole the show with a career-high five goals, leading the Comets to a memorable win on Sophomore Night.
Clark was unstoppable, netting five goals, including one assisted by her sister, Cameryn Clark, and another from fellow sophomore Maddie Spielman. Abigail Reyes also found the back of the net, courtesy of an assist from Spielman, while sophomore Teresa Reza added a goal to round out the scoring.
In goal, Gianna Belasco and Kaylee Cole split duties. Velasco made three saves over 60 minutes, allowing just one goal, while Cole closed out the final 30 minutes with two saves, keeping a clean sheet.
The Comets' resounding win served as a perfect tribute to their sophomore players and continued their strong form as they push through conference play.
