RIVERSIDE - Led by 16 kills on 41 swings from Kilyn Hayes, the Riverside City College Tigers opened up the home portion of the 2024 schedule with a straight-set win over Chaffey (25-22, 25-8, 25-18) on Friday night.
After a tight 25-22 first set win, the Tigers hit .269 and held Chaffey to just two kills in a 25-8 set two win. RCC again outhit the Panthers in the third set, using 12 kills on 36 attacks for a 25-18 win to complete the sweep.
Hayes also added 10 digs in the win while Tabitha Irish finished with 11 digs. Jaed Whitmire added 10 kills and Abbey Oaks had seven while Alyssa Bishop and Riley Chaffee finished with 15 and 14 assists respectively.
The Tigers are back on the court next Tuesday when they travel to Mt. San Jacinto. First serve with the Eagles is set for 5 p.m.
