Owls Score Six Against Monarchs

The Citrus College Women's Soccer team traveled to LA Valley College to earn a dominant 6-0 win. 

Citrus College improves to 4-0-1 on the season while LA Valley College falls to 3-4-1 on the year. 

The Owls scored a goal off the foot of Sarah Nelson in the 16th minute to go up 1-0, which was the score at halftime after the Owls fired 11 shots and earned two corner kicks. 

In the second half Citrus College scored quick to open the half when Julianna Gasca found the back of the net in the 47th minute, assisted by Aubrianna Mejia, to make the score 2-0. Just three minutes later in the 50th minute Julianna gave the Owls a 3-0 lead with her second goal of the game, this time assisted by Emily Cherry. 

In the 72nd minute Alexia Leon made the score 4-0 with a goal, assisted by Emily Cherry and much like the beginning of the second half, the Owls scored again within three minutes of their previous goal, a strike from Malani Gonzalez in the 75th minute to make the score 5-0. 

The final goal of a 12-shot second half came from Arianna Salcido, assisted by Andrea Meza, to give the Owls a 6-0 lead. 

Liliana Miramontes shut out LA Valley College, saving all three shots on goal that she faced. 

Citrus College will look to stay undefeated as they host College of the Canyons this Friday, October 4th at 3 p.m.
