Sacramento City Rolls Past Cosumnes River, 7-2
Sacramento City avenged its earlier loss to Cosumnes River with a convincing 7-2 victory at home on March 15, 2025. The Panthers took control early and never looked back, using a balanced offensive attack and strong pitching to secure the win.
Early Exchange of Runs
Cosumnes River got on the board first in the top of the first inning when Jimmy Radler's RBI single brought home Noah Canter for a 1-0 lead. However, Sacramento City responded quickly, tying the game in the bottom half on a Kaden Isola RBI single that scored Levi Sotomayor.
Panthers Take Command in the Third
Sacramento City took the lead for good in the third inning. Sotomayor singled home Jackson Blakley, and moments later, Dylan Drake came in to score on a double-play groundout, making it 3-1.
Cosumnes River cut the deficit to 3-2 in the fourth on a Chase Christenson RBI single, but that would be the last time they crossed the plate.
Sac City Pulls Away
The Panthers extended their lead in the bottom of the fourth when Drake was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, forcing in a run to make it 4-2. They put the game out of reach in the fifth, as Jackson Norton delivered a clutch two-run single, followed by a Cy Carpenter sacrifice bunt that brought in another run for a 7-2 advantage.
Strong Pitching Seals the Win
Sacramento City's pitching staff shut down the Hawks after the fourth inning. Starter Joe Muraoka (1-2) earned the win, allowing two runs over 3.2 innings. Relievers Dylan Burke and Landon Dodge combined for 5.1 scoreless innings, with Dodge picking up his fourth save of the season after striking out six over four dominant frames.
