No. 24 Volleyball Closes Non-Conference Play with Sweep Over San Bernardino Valley

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (10/16/2024) -- The No. 24 Palomar College women's volleyball team wrapped up their non-conference schedule with a strong 3-0 sweep over San Bernardino Valley College (26-24, 25-19, 25-22) on Wednesday night. The Comets showcased balanced play as they gear up for their return to conference action.

Teiora Tinoisamoa led the offensive attack with nine kills, hitting an efficient .300. Janell Spires, Emma Bambe, and Sierra Schoenwald each contributed seven kills, with Sierra posting a solid .294 hitting percentage.

Defensively, Spires anchored the back row with 17 digs, while Bambe added 13. Cadence Young and Ashlynn Craven each chipped in 10 digs to keep rallies alive. Brisa Necochea was a force at the net with three blocks.

Palomar has been impressive throughout the season, posting an 11-4 overall record with a 6-1 mark in non-conference play. Spires leads the team with 173 kills (3.60 per set) and 166 digs. Tinoisamoa has contributed 96 kills with a .279 hitting percentage, and Necochea has added 75 kills while leading the team in blocks with 35. Craven has racked up 195 assists, while Young leads the team with 177 digs (3.69 per set).

The Comets will return to conference action on Friday when they face Southwestern College for their annual Pink Out Game, looking to continue their strong form.
