The MSJC women's soccer team opened play in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference last week and split their first two matches.
Friday night in Menifee the Eagles lost a highly competitive match to visiting College of the Desert 1-0. The Roadrunners scored the night's only goal in the 68th minute. The combination of Daisy Reyes and Ashlyn Goade made five saves in goal for the Eagles.
MSJC traveled to Victor Valley on Tuesday night and came away with a 2-1 victory over the Rams. Helen Elizalde scored the first goal of the match in the 14th minute to give the Eagles the lead. She would add her second goal of the match in the 64th minute with an assist from Maggie Arens. The Rams scored their lone goal of the night in the final minute. Reyes played all 90 minutes in goal for MSJC to earn the victory.
The Eagles now have an overall record of 5-3-5 on the season they are 1-1 in IEAC play. MSJC will be back in action Friday when they travel to Norco College for a 4 pm match.
