No. 26-ranked Riverside City College remained undefeated in Orange Empire Conference action with a thrilling 74-71 victory over Santa Ana College Wednesday night.
The Tigers improve to 10-5 overall, 2-0 in OEC play, while the Dons drop to 10-4 on the year and start conference with a 0-1 mark.
Deacon Toliver led three Tigers in double figures with 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for a double-double. Christian Warren followed with 17 points (6-for-10 and Jayden Miller rounded out the trio with 11 points (4-for-9).
As a team, RCC shot 51.9 percent from the floor and a season-high 81.8 percent from the free throw line.
Tyson Thornton gave Riverside the first lead of the game after driving to the basket on the first possession. The Tigers took their biggest lead of the game with just over five minutes left in the first half after Toliver banked in a shot from Corey Mitchell, 34-21.
Santa Ana battled back and made things interesting down the stretch, tying the game at 71-71 with four seconds on the clock. Miller raced down the floor and came up big with a buzzer-beating three to hand RCC the victory.
The Tigers take a break to enjoy the holidays and will pick back up in January when they host Saddleback College on Jan. 3 at 5 p.m.
