FRESNO – The City College of San Francisco women's tennis team extended its winning streak to 7 matches thanks to a pair of non-conference victories in Fresno over the weekend.
CCSF, ranked No. 4 in Northern California, needed tie breakers to defeat both No. 8 Southern California-ranked San Diego City College and No. 5 Northern California Fresno City College for 5-4 wins.
"Two nail biters," said CCSF head coach Mary Graber.
On Friday, Christina Ling came through with the 10-7 victory in the super tie breaker at No. 2 singles against San Diego City. And on Saturday against host Fresno City, the super tie breaker was decided at No. 1 singles with Ariel Xu winning 10-8 to secure the team victory.
San Francisco improved to 8-1 overall. The Rams return to Coast Conference play on Tuesday (Mar. 19) at 2 p.m. when they host West Valley College.
