The MSJC women's soccer team won a match at home on Friday 3-2 over San Bernardino Valley but lost on the road at College of the Desert Tuesday 3-1.
The Eagles jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead at HCN Bank Stadium October 18th when Nathali Gasca scored a goal in the opening minute of the match. Gasca got an assist from Haylee Chilton to get MSJC on the board. The Eagles pushed their lead to 2-0 in the 25th minute when Ava Berger scored with a helper from Lorena Gonzalez. San Bernardino responded with back-to-back goals late in the first half to even the match before the break. The Eagles would score the winning goal in the 49th minute when Gonzalez scored with an assist from Maggie Arens. Daisy Reyes made 5 saves in goal for MSJC, all in the second half.
Tuesday the Eagles traveled to Palm Desert where they fell behind 3-0 to COD before a late first half goal by Gonzalez cut into the Roadrunner lead. Neither team would add any scoring in the second half and MSJC fell 3-1. Reyes and Ashlyn Goade both made 8 saves each for the Eagles.
MSJC now stands at 7-5-5 overall and 3-3 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference matches. The Eagles will return to action on Friday when they host Victor Valley at 4 pm in Menifee.
