In its second-straight ranked battle, No. 17-ranked Riverside City College once again fought hard but fell 75-67 to No. 6-ranked San Bernardino Valley College Wednesday night.
The Tigers drop to 8-4 on the year, while the Wolverines improve to 8-3 overall.
Christian Warren led the Tigers with 14 points (5-for-13) and five assists, while Deacon Toliver posted a double-double with 10 points (5-for-7) and 10 rebounds.
Despite outshooting SBVC from the floor (47.3 percent to 41.0 percent), Riverside couldn't knock down its shots at the charity stripe and finished the game with a 42.9 percent from the line.
With just over a minute left in the game, Warren banked in a jump shot to put the Tigers within reach, 67-63.
RCC needed a stop but couldn't seem to keep SBVC at bay. The Tigers tried to foul back in it, but the Wolverines took care of their chances at the free throw line to seal the 67-58 victory.
The Tigers close out the 2024 portion of the season on the road, heading to Chaffey College on Friday at 5 p.m. for their final nonconference contest of the year.
