Palomar Battles in Close Loss to Antelope Valley at Mt. San Jacinto Crossover

HEMET, CA (11/8/2024) -- The Palomar College women's basketball team faced a tough 78-72 loss to Antelope Valley College on day two of the Mt. San Jacinto College Crossover event. In a game that saw both teams go head-to-head for each possession, the Comets ultimately couldn't overcome a strong third-quarter push by Antelope Valley.

Nevaeh Mageo led the team with a standout 20-point performance, hitting six three-pointers to keep Palomar within striking distance. Kylee Trujillo contributed 16 points, hitting four of four from the free throw line and adding three steals to her stat line. Brooke Quintana also played a crucial role with eight points and six assists, while Teanna Alaman and Angelina De Leon combined for 13 rebounds, helping Palomar match their opponent on the boards.

While the Comets fought until the final buzzer, they'll have to refocus quickly as they head into a crucial home stretch. Palomar will host their annual Comet Crossover event next weekend, starting with a Friday night matchup against Allan Hancock College at 7 pm.
