
The state #3 Pasadena City College women's soccer team reached a season best in goals in routing host East Los Angeles, 7-0, in a South Coast Conference game on Friday afternoon.
PCC upped its record to 11-1-1 overall and now 3-1 in SCC play.
The Lancers were paced by Charlie Gallardo, who netted a pair of goals and one assist, and Adamari Polanco, who picked up her first collegiate goal and added an assist. Both Alexa Espinoza-Gutierrez and Nadia Aguilar also chipped in a goal and an assist each.
Pasadena got on the board in the fourth minute on a goal by Angely Puga, assisted by Delilah Vazquez. Gallardo made it 2-0 on a pass from Alexa Espinoza-Gutierrez in the 23rd minute.
Nadia Aguilar's score from Monique Arcieniega just before halftime made it 3-0.
The onslaught continued in the second half with a goal by Hailey Hull off a pass by Gallardo in the 47th minute. Gallardo scored her team-leading ninth goal in the 68th minute, assisted by Isabela Guerrero. Polanco fed Espinoza-Gutierrez in the 80th minute and Polanco capped things in the 85th minute on an assist by Aguilar.
PCC outshot the Huskies, 27-3, while Layla Hoyo made two saves in the second half to relieve starter Natalia Portillo, who played the first half. The Lancers collected the team's ninth shutout of the season.
Gallardo continues her climb up the PCC All-Time Scoring List as she now has 49 career points (19 goals, 11 assists) to tie Rebecah Erickson (1999-2000) for 14th place.
On Tuesday, Oct. 22, Coach Terryn Soelberg's Lancers next play at El Camino College in a 1:30 p.m. conference matchup.
