Aptos, Calif. - The Butte softball team split with Cabrillo on the road, winning game one, 8-6, before falling 9-1 in six innings, on Tuesday afternoon.
In game one, the bats of freshmen Midasia Wathen and Madison West were hot as they combined for 5-for 8 at the plate with seven RBI, a double, and three runs.
Freshman Emily Thurman (2-3) earned the complete-game win in the circle.
Wathen added a triple in game two with sophomore Kylee Richhart adding a double.
Freshman Breanna Williams (1-6) was the pitcher of record, tossing 5.2 innings.
The Roadrunners (5-11) return home to host Delta next in a doubleheader on Wednesday, Mar. 20 beginning at 12 p.m.
