
Women's Basketball Rights Ship at Ventura, 47-31
VENTURA, Calif - The Allan Hancock College women's basketball team snapped a two-game skid at while on the road at Ventura College on Saturday afternoon after securing a 47-31 victory. | BOX SCORE
Both teams found it difficult to score in the early minutes as turnovers and missed shots dominated the opening quarter, which ended with a slim 9-8 advantage for the Bulldogs (8-14, 3-3 WSC). Coach Smith's squad extended the lead to five by the intermission before running away with the lead after an explosive 17-point outburst in the third quarter. Despite committing 22 turnovers, Hancock held VC to an ice cold 5.6 percent finish from distance (24.1% overall) and won the rebounded battle, 41-39.
Khaelii Robertson-Mack led the team with a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, while also contributing two assists and a block. Katy Mathews added 13 points, including two three-pointers, and provided four assists. Gifti Tefera (8 points, 8 rebounds) and Maggie Perez (8 points, 2 assists) rounded out the top performers for the visiting crew.
The Bulldogs will be back in action at home against Oxnard College on Saturday, February 1st, at 1 PM.
