For the third time in the last four years, the Pasadena City College women's soccer team reached double figures in goals in a game. On Friday at Robinson Stadium, the state #3-ranked Lancers had seven different goal scorers in an 11-1, South Coast Conference rout over LA Harbor.
Pasadena upped its sparkling record to 13-1-1 overall and now 5-1 in SCC play. Unfortunately for the Lancers since they play in the North Division, they are still a game behind first-place and #7 Mt. San Antonio (6-0 in SCC games).
Against Harbor, sophomore midfielder Charlie Gallardo continued her offensive power show as she scored her second hat trick, netting all three in the second half while adding two assists. It was her fourth multi-goal game of the year as she now has 22 goals and 13 assists in her career, allowing her to reach #10 on the PCC All-Time Scoring List with 57 points.
The team captain is one point behind #9 Kyana Wilkerson (2001 and 2003, 23 goals, 12 assists). Gallardo leads the South Coast in scoring and is 14th in the state.
Angely Puga added two goals and an assist and has seven goals and five assists on the season, tied for fourth in the conference in scoring with 19 points.
Alexa Espinoza-Gutierrez also reached the net for two goals while Isabela Guerrero, Hailey Hull, and Raylyn Laney each contributed a goal and an assist. Conference assists leader Delilah Vazquez picked up two more apples for eight on the year.
Guerrero is also climbing the PCC All-Time Scoring List, now tied for #16 with 43 points (15 goals, 13 assists).
Rachel Mentaze added two assists and redshirt transfer freshman Mackenzie Dawes scored her first collegiate goal. Nadia Aguilar and Hallee Cervantes each had helpers.
PCC next travels to face Los Angeles City College on Tuesday, Oct. 29 in a 4:30 p.m. SCC contest.
