The state #2-ranked Pasadena City College women's soccer team advanced to the first place final of the South Coast Conference Tournament behind a 1-0 blanking of #13 Long Beach CC at Robinson Stadium on Tuesday.

PCC (17-1-1 overall) tied the school record for wins set last year at 17 and increased its program record win streak to nine games. The Lancers will have a chance to avenge their lone loss this season when they face SCC North Division champion Mt. San Antonio in the tourney finale on Thursday, Nov. 14 in a 4 p.m. contest at El Camino College.

Against LBCC, the Lancers struggled in the first half as the Vikings pressed offensively and created several scoring chances.

In the second half, PCC started to get going as Angely Puga hit the crossbar three minutes in. In the 63rd minute, Charlie Gallardo took a corner kick that produced a loft shot by Puga that again hit the crossbar. Hailey Hull got to the loose ball and punched in her eighth game-winning goal in her 2-year Lancers career. It was Hull's ninth goal this season.

Francesca Agliolo made seven saves as PCC recorded the squad's 14th shutout and third in a row. With 12 minutes left, Agliolo made the save of the game as she tipped a ball over the bar on a shot by Laila Alfadhiel.

The team's defense made a number of big breakups, including Itzel Nunez who made a  deflected block on LBCC's Abbie Campos shot just before time expired.

PCC head coach Terryn Soelberg has directed the Lancers to a 34-5-5 winning record since the start of 2023.
