Condors Secure Decisive 4-1 Victory Over Palomar College

The Oxnard College Condors men's soccer team continued their unbeaten streak with a commanding 4-1 win against the Palomar College Comets on Tuesday afternoon at Palomar College. This victory elevates the Condors' record to 3-0-0 for the season, while the Comets fall to 0-3-0.

The match began with an early lead for the Palomar Comets, as Arturo Atilano-Gutierrez found the back of the net at the 16:10 mark, giving the home team a brief 1-0 advantage. However, the Condors responded swiftly, with Andres Gutierrez equalizing just two minutes later with an assist from Alejandro Jimenez. Oxnard quickly took control of the game, as Ernesto Rodriguez scored the go-ahead goal at 19:25, assisted by Miguel Cabrera, pushing the Condors ahead 2-1 by halftime.

The second half saw Oxnard solidifying their lead, with Gutierrez scoring his second goal of the match in the 62nd minute, assisted by Michael Sauceda. Sauceda later added a goal of his own at the 76:06 mark, with assists from both Gutierrez and Rodriguez, sealing the 4-1 victory for the Condors.

Oxnard's defense, led by goalkeeper Adrian Contreras, remained resilient throughout the match, allowing just one goal and making four key saves. The Condors dominated offensively, outshooting the Comets 19-8, with 11 shots on goal compared to Palomar's six.

"We knew Palomar would come out strong, especially playing at home," said Oxnard head coach Ross Greaney. "Our team showed great character in responding quickly to their early goal and then controlling the pace of the game. Andres was outstanding today, and the whole team worked together to secure this win."

With this victory, the Condors are off to a strong start this season and will look to carry their momentum into their next match.
