The Pasadena City College women's soccer team ran its record to 3-0 thanks to a goal in the 90th minute by Delilah Vazquez to edge Moorpark, 1-0, in a non-conference game played at Robinson Stadium Friday night.
Rachel Mentaze sent in a ball that eluded a Moorpark defender trying to clear it as Vazquez made a quick strike off the bounce to score just inside the far post.
The Lancers had many scoring opportunites in outshooting the Raiders (0-1), 22-6. The best chance came on a penalty kick by Charlie Gallardo three minutes into the second half, but MC goalie Emma Ott made a diving stop.
Ott made nine saves overall, seven in the final 45 minutes. Meanwhile, Francesca Agliolo only had to make two saves to earn the team's third shutout in three contests.
PCC travels to play Saddleback, a team that earned the #2 seed in last year's SoCal Playoffs, for a 7 p.m. contest on Tuesday, Sept. 3. It is the start of a 6-game, road trip for Coach Terryn Soelberg's Lancers who do not play a single home game in the month of September.
