09/05/17 >> Moorpark men's soccer head coach Jake Gwin has won many games – championships even – at the high school and club level.
But for the rookie collegiate coach, the Raiders gave him a win he's never gotten before after a 3-2 victory over Palomar on Tuesday. His first collegiate win as head coach.
The win came in a comeback fashion, to boot.
After conceding a goal in the opening minute, Cesar Ramirez netted the equalizer in the 25th minute, which gave the match a 1-1 halftime score.
David Jimenez scored the go-ahead goal in the 55th, then Oscar Ramos added the third goal in the 65th.
Moorpark has its first home fixture on Sept. 8 against Cypress at 2:00 p.m..
