Bulldogs Fall Short in Four Set Showdown at Cuesta
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's volleyball program fell in four sets to Western State Conference (North) foe, Cuesta College, in a road showing on Friday evening. | BOX SCORE
The loss moved AHC to 10-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play while the Cougars were lifted to 11-10 (2-3 WSC) on the season. The Bulldogs took the opening set with a 25-18 victory before falling short in three straight frames (17-25, 17-25, 20-25).
Marina Agueda and Emma Olney led the offensive stats from the outside with 14 kills and 13 kills, respectively, while Gifti Tefera posted the team's top hitting percentage with a .333 finish in the middle. Morgan Doss led the defensive effort as one of four members to finish with double figure digs after racking up 15 while wearing the libero jersey. She was followed by Oleny (13), Kaitlyn Vongvone (11), and Shanyce Valadez (10). Valadez paced the offense with 29 assists in the 5-1 setting and recorded three of the team's seven aces.
The Bulldogs will be back in action at home on Wednesday, October 23rd, at home against Santa Barbara City College. The match is set to begin at 6 PM inside of the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
