Freshman Melissa Nevarez and sophomore Livia Pereira scored a brace to help cruise the Los Angeles Pierce College Women's Soccer team to a 5-1 victory against East LA on Friday night.
The scoring did not take long as Pereira scored within six minutes of play, Jennifer Flores doubled the lead with a tremendous long shot, and Nevarez found another to give Pierce a comfortable 3-0 lead at halftime. As the Brahmas dominated in the attack with various dangerous scoring opportunities, East LA would fight back. A superb free-kick would cut into the lead, however Pierce maintained a high pace and would add two more.
The win brings Pierce's record to 4-1-1, as they prepare for another home contest against LA Harbor on September 17th. It will also be the 500th game coached in Pierce history by Head Coach Adolfo Perez.
