Playing their final non-conference tune-up before opening WSC North action, the Raider Women's Soccer team played host to the West LA Wildcats.
The Raiders scored first when Catalina Anguita dribbled up the right side and hammered a ball the Wildcat keeper, 1-0 Raiders in minute 23.
So. Anja Slattum found the back of the net in the 36th minute with an assist from Taylor Selzninck. Slattum found an open spot and Selznick tipped it towards her right side and Slattum did the rest. 2-0 Raiders at the half.
The second half saw the Raiders go with their heavy defense package frustrating West LA. With the Raiders playing with nine, the Wildcats finally broke through in the 85th minute to cut the Raider lead by one. But this game was over as the defense kept control of the half.
With the win the Raiders are now 5-2 and will next open WSC North action at Ventura, Tuesday, October 1st, 6:30p.
