Butte College Softball Secures First Win of the Season Against Folsom Lake

The Butte College Softball team picked up its first victory of the season in impressive fashion, defeating Folsom Lake on the road to kick off their second weekend of play. The Roadrunners showcased strong offensive execution and resilient defense to secure the win.

Butte struck first in the second inning when Childers roped a triple and was driven in by Baker's RBI single. Baker then came around to score on a single by Sanders, giving the Roadrunners an early edge. Though Butte allowed two unearned runs in the bottom of the inning, they quickly regained control and never looked back.

The go-ahead run came in the fifth inning off a sacrifice fly, and Butte provided plenty of insurance in the sixth, putting up four more runs. The highlight of the inning was a clutch two-run double by Huttman, sealing the Roadrunners' victory.

Weather played a factor in Butte's schedule, as their Friday series against Santa Rosa was postponed due to rain. The matchup will be rescheduled for March 5. Next up, the Roadrunners will return home for a doubleheader against Consumnes River on Tuesday, February 4th, with first pitch set for noon.

Butte will look to build off this momentum and continue their winning ways as the season progresses. Stay tuned for more action from the Roadrunners!
