Dons Catch Fire to Put Away Chaffey, 93-76

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Santa Ana College Women's Basketball had their best offensive output of the season as they defeated the Chaffey Panthers (3-3) by a score of 93-76 on Tuesday night.

The Dons (5-1) posted season highs in field goal percentage (53.5 percent), three point field goal percentage (45 percent) and free throws (88.9 percent) while winning the turnover battle 22-12.

Freshman forward Anaya Beard was dominant in the paint all night, scoring a season high 25 points and grabbing eight boards while shooting 11-of-15.

A big reason for that performance was the play of fellow freshman Mia Rivera. The point guard out of Cerritos racked up 16 points to go with seven assists and eight steals in a team high 33 minutes.

Kiki Graham also had herself a game, posting 17 points, six assists, four steals and a block while Larissa Robles added six more assists and five points.

The shooting was contagious for the Dons as their bench came in and didn't miss a beat. Sophomore guard Katelyn Morales was on fire, going 5-of-7 from beyond the arc while Kimberly Limon and Jayleen Rivera combined for 13 points and five boards.

SAC's bench outscored Chaffey's 28-9, helping the Dons pull away.

Santa Ana will take a break before hosting LA Trade Tech (1-4) on Tuesday, Nov. 26th at 6:00 p.m.
