Women's Soccer completed its first trip through the Western State Conference North Division by hosting local rival Allan Hancock. The Bulldogs jumped out early with two goals in the first 20 minutes of the game, but the Cougars cut that lead in half ten minutes before the intermission. Cuesta got on the scoreboard when Midfielder Oneal Hunt found Forward Payton Lapp on breakaway to put them back in contention. Lapp and Hunt have been an important duo for the Cougars and are tied for the team lead with 11 points on the season. Currently, Lapp owns a team-high five goals on the season, while Hunt is tied for second with four and leads the team with three assists. Cuesta was unable to build on their initial score, while the Bulldogs added a pair of goals in the second half to clinch the victory. The setback drops the Cougars to 4-7-2 overall and 1-5 in WSC play.
Women's Soccer continues its WSC homestand this Friday (4 PM) and begins its second trip through the circuit against Los Angeles Pierce. In their WSC opener, the Brahmas beat the Cougars, 2-0, in Woodland Hills on October 1.
