SANTA ANA, Calif. - Ja'Von Maxwell came off the bench and exploded for 28 points and 12 rebounds as the Santa Ana College Men's Basketball team cruised to a 98-52 victory over the Grossmont Griffins (0-6) on Monday night.
The sophomore out of Katy, Texas shot 13-of-18 from the field on his way to a career night. He's now scored in double digits in three of the last four contests.
Kamaury Washington joined in on the scoring off the bench as he poured in 16 points to go with 12 rebounds and three assists.
Santa Ana (6-3) overwhelmed the Griffins with their depth as 11 players logged 12 or more minutes while the bench scored a whopping 60 points.
The Dons also dominated the game in the paint and on the defensive end as they closed shooting 53 percent from the field and outrebounded GCC 58-37, while holding them to just 26.9 percent shooting.
SAC has now won three consecutive games and are undefeated at home. They'll put that streak and record on line again on Wednesday when they host Cuyamaca College (5-2) at 5:00 p.m.
