GILROY – Jasmine Luengas scored 15 points while Isabelle Cline added 11 points to help lead the Gavilan College women's basketball team to its first win, a 42-37 triumph over visiting Contra Costa College on Tuesday.
The Rams actually trailed at halftime, down 21-20 before outscoring the Comets 14-2 in the third quarter. Contra Costa rallied late in the fourth, but Gavilan was able to hold off the visitors for the non-conference victory.
Leungas and Cline both added 7 rebounds each. Guin Lines chipped in with 8 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds.
Gavilan moved to 1-8 overall this season. The Rams are back in action on Thursday (Dec. 5) at home against American River College.
