In just his sixth season directing the program, Pasadena City College women's volleyball head coach Mike Terrill collected victory #100 in his career as the Lancers swept Cerritos, 25-12, 25-21, 26-24, Friday night at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

PCC (11-4 overall) improved to 2-2 in South Coast Conference play in recovering from recent losses to #25 El Camino and #10 Mt. San Antonio.

Setter Bia Silva, the lone sophomore on the squad, continued her impressive season of statistical anomalies. Triple-doubles in volleyball are very rare, but for the fourth time this season and first time in only three sets of play, Silva recorded the feat. She landed 11 kills (hit .304), set 10 assists and totaled her season-high of 17 digs. Silva added to her high serving point total with four aces to give her 46 overall (third in the state).

Her previous triple-doubles occurred in 5-set wins over #20 MiraCosta and #21 College of the Canyons and a 4-set triumph over #17 Santa Barbara City. S

Terrill, who has three SCC titles to his credit in 2017, 2018 (both North Division crowns), and 2021 (a state record 18-0 in a 9-team league), reflected about his coaching achievement.

"I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride," Terrill said. "I have had the privilege to coach many great players, and had the support of incredible assistant coaches during the last six years. I love being this team's coach. The experience of watching players develop their skills on and off the court and then move on to the next level is a true joy. We've had so much fun along the way."

Outside hitter Emma Yogan hit .400 and planted 11 kills while libero Emily Licon had a double-double on 15 digs and 10 set assists (and three aces). Also unusual was the feat of three different players scoring double digits in assists as setter Lindsay Delgadillo totaled a team-high 14 helpers.

The middle blocking was strong as well as Kyley Chang added six blocks, four kills (and three aces) and Reese Roper had five blocks and three kills.

PCC next visits East Los Angeles College on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in a 6 p.m. SCC match.
