The OC Women's Soccer team honored those folks who are fighting, and those who we have lost, to breast cancer.  The team sold Kicks for Cancer t-shirts to support the Ribbons of Life Breast Cancer Foundation.

The women's soccer team demonstrated resilience on the field, fighting back for a 3-3 tie against the Cuesta College Cougars. This match marked a significant turnaround for the Condors, avenging their earlier 5-1 loss to Cuesta earlier in the season.

The game began with OC scoring in the 4th minute, as Jennifer Rojas scored an unassisted goal to put the Condors ahead 1-0. However, the Cougars responded swiftly, with Oneal Hunt finding the back of the net in the 18th minute, leveling the score at 1-1.

The Condors regained the lead in the 21st minute with a goal from Jakeline Novela-Martinez, on an assist from Anahi Nieto, but the Cougars once again rallied. Gracie Townsend scored to make the score 2-2.

In the second half, Cuesta's Oneal Hunt answered back, scoring another goal in the 66th minute to put Cuesta up, 3-2.

In the 86th minute, a foul was called in the visitor box, and Rojas again scored a crucial goal, on Kicks for Cancer Day.

"We started some freshmen who stepped up today. Specifically, Jennifer Rojas who started our momentum early on in the game, and also with the clutch PK to help us tie in the end. Overall, we will use this result to continue to improve throughout the rest of season," said Coach Emily Perez.

The Condors will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their upcoming match against Allan Hancock College on November 1st from 4:00 pm. Fans are encouraged to continue supporting the team as they strive for success in the remainder of the season.
