Men's Basketball Passes Road Test at Coalinga, 76-60
COALINGA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team secured a 76-60 victory in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon while on the road at Coalinga College (formerly known as West Hills College - Coalinga). | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs now move to 6-4 on the season while the hosts fall to an overall mark of 1-10 after the loss. As a team, Hancock shot a red-hot 56.0 percent from the field and finished just shy of 40 percent from distance. They also outrebounded the Falcons, 33-28, and saw significant improvements from the free throw line.
River Ortiz and Arlind Konjuhi led the way with 16 points apiece with both sinking four shots from distance. Owen Ubaldo also notched double figures, finishing with 10 points, and pulled in five boards. TJ Hollinger was tops for the visitors inside with nine rebounds while Trenten Lavender dished out a team-best mark of six assists.
Coach Aye's squad will continue the non-conference slate with a three-day showing at the Coach Carr Classic, hosted by San Jose City College. They'll face the hosting Jaguars on Thursday (Dec. 12) before a pair of neutral games with Monterey Peninsula College (Dec. 13) and Hartnell College (Dec. 14).
