Buciak explodes for 40 points, Rams win third straight
GILROY – Sophomore Bricen Buciak nailed 10 three-pointers on his way to a career-high 40 points to help lead Gavilan College to its third straight win, a 95-80 victory over visiting College of Marin on Friday night.
Thanks to the recent hot streak, the Rams have evened up their overall record at 3-3. Gavilan has picked up wins over Coalinga (74-70) and Porterville (70-55).
Buciak, who was had a solid start to the 2024-25 season, caught on fire against Marin. He made 12 of 19 shots in the contest, including 10 from downtown. He was also 6 for 7 from the free throw line.

When he wasn't raining threes, Buciak was doing work underneath the rim. He matched a career-high with 15 rebounds to record his first double-double of the season.
Six games into the season, Buciak is averaging an impressive 22.7 points and 6.0 rebounds.
Kenny Harper contributed 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists to Friday's win. Chance Duffey added 9 points while Jayden Fowler chipped in with 8 points, 5 assists, and 3 boards.
The Rams will look to keep the momentum going on Wednesday (Nov. 20) when they travel to Lemoore College for a 5 p.m. non-conference game.
