MiraCosta Dominates Knights in Conference Match

The MiraCosta Spartans women's soccer team continued their impressive run, trouncing San Diego City 7-0 to bolster their place at the top of the conference. With this win, MiraCosta improved to 13-3-1 overall and an unbeaten 12-0-1 in conference play.

The Spartans wasted no time asserting their dominance. Jazmyne Arispe opened the scoring in the 3rd minute with a quick assist from Joey Freas. MiraCosta doubled the lead eight minutes later when Lena Bachman found the net off Charley Diaz's pass. The first half saw two more goals, courtesy of Diaz in the 20th minute and Jade Valentine in the 39th, leaving San Diego City reeling with a 4-0 halftime deficit.

The Spartans' offensive intensity only grew in the second half. Diaz netted her second goal at the 59th minute, followed by Bachman's second strike in the 85th. Heidi Alarcon sealed the match with a goal in the final minute, bringing the scoreline to a resounding 7-0 victory.

This win sets MiraCosta up with momentum as they head into a pivotal stretch of the season. They'll face Imperial Valley on the road tomorrow at 3 PM, aiming to maintain their unbeaten conference record with three games remaining. With today's shutout victory, the Spartans have underscored their readiness to secure the conference title.
