The Irvine Valley women's soccer team was on a roll again Friday afternoon.
After shutting out Grossmont, 4-0, on the road on Tuesday for its first win of the season, the Lasers took down LA City by the same score at home Friday.
Friday's 4-0 victory improved Irvine Valley's record to 2-1 overall.
The Lasers' lone loss was in the season opener last week to Pasadena City, 1-0.
The star of Friday's game was freshman forward Megan Beal, who scored three goals and led the team in shots with six.
Beal got the Lasers on the board in the 16th minute with a goal on a shot from outside.
She then scored in the 27th minute with a chip over the LA City keeper to put IVC ahead, 2-0.
Sophomore forward Jocelyn Quinonez put IVC up, 3-0, with a goal just before the end of the half.
And Irvine Valley finished off its scoring three minutes into the second half when Beal earned her hat trick with another goal over the keeper's head.
IVC had several more chances in the second half. The Lasers took 11 shots in the final 45 minutes.
Assists on the day came from freshman forward Kuuipo Laumatia (2), freshman defender Samantha Ortiz and freshman defender Haley Flores.
Sophomore goalie Sydnee Salamoff did not have to make a save on the day for the Lasers
Irvine Valley will go after its third straight victory next Tuesday when it hosts Cuyamaca at 3 p.m.
