Clovis named No. 23 seed for Northern California Playoffs
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PLAYOFFS BRACKET
The Clovis Community College men's soccer team is headed back to the postseason after a one-year absence. On Sunday, the Crush were named the No. 23 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.
Clovis will travel to face No. 10-seed Santa Rosa Junior College for a first-round game in Santa Rosa on Wednesday (Nov. 20) at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices for the 3C2A postseason game are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. Tickets are available online in advance at the SRJC Athletics tickets page.
Under second-year head coach Yaw Danso, the Crush finished fifth in the Central Valley Conference at 1-4-5. Clovis enters the postseason with a 3-7-8 overall record. Clovis is one of five CVC programs to earn a spot in the playoffs.
The Crush last qualified for the postseason in 2022. Clovis came just a win away from advancing to the state championships for the first time in program history after falling in the regional finals.
No. 10 Santa Rosa wrapped up the regular season with a 10-5-4- overall record. The Bear Cubs finished tied for second place in the Big 8 Conference with a 4-3-3 mark.
Clovis and Santa Rosa will be meeting for the first time this season. The winner of Wednesday's contest will travel to No. 7 Hartnell College for a second-round game on Saturday (Nov. 23).
Four wins are needed by the Crush to advance to the 3C2A State Championships on Dec. 6 & 8 at American River College in Sacramento.
