Irvine Valley's women's soccer team gave Orange Coast all it could handle in an Orange Empire Conference match on the road Friday.

The Lasers scored first and had a chance for another positive result. IVC was coming off of upsetting Fullerton on Tuesday.

But Orange Coast answered with goals in the 58th and 79th minutes to pull out a 2-1 win over the Lasers.

Irvine Valley's record went to 5-10-3 overall and 2-7-1 in conference, while Orange Coast improved to 6-10-2 overall and 3-6-1 in conference.

Irvine Valley went ahead, 1-0, on a goal by freshman defender Amanda Kutcher in the 39th minute.

The Lasers held that lead into the half.

But Orange Coast tied the score on a goal by Delani Guyot in the 58th minute and then got the game winner from Julie Orellana in the 79th minute.

Kutcher ended up with five shots on the day, including two on goal.

Sophomore goalie Heather Miller made seven saves for the Lasers.

Irvine Valley plays again next Tuesday at home in a conference match against Santiago Canyon at 3 p.m.
