The Irvine Valley women's basketball team split its games in the Eagle Invitational at Mt. San Jacinto this past weekend.
The Lasers fell to host Mt. San Jacinto, 76-55, on Friday, but responded with a 63-52 victory over Chaffey on Saturday.
Against Mt. San Jacinto, freshman forward Neryah Lokeni led the Lasers with 14 points.
Freshman forward Alexis Price and freshman guard Samantha Barnett each finished with 11 points for IVC.
And sophomore guard Moka Saiki ended with eight points and six rebounds and sophomore point guard Haruka Mikuma chipped in five assists and six steals.
IVC responded on Saturday with a big 63-52 win over Chaffey on Saturday in the invitational.
With the win, Irvine Valley improved its record to 5-5 overall.
Barnett was the star. She finished with 26 points in the win, incuding scoring 21 points in the first half.
Barnett added four rebounds.
Irvine Valley jumped out to a 25-11 lead after the first quarter and was up, 33-18, at the half.
The Lasers out-scored the Panthers, 17-14, in the third quarter to take a 50-32 advantage and put the game away.
Two other IVC players scored in double figures. Sophomore point guard Haruka Mikuma added 12 points and sophomore guard Moka Saiki had 10 points and five assists.
Irvine Valley plays again Saturday, hosting Glendale at 3 p.m.
