Irvine Valley's women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw in an Orange Empire Conference match at Golden West on Tuesday.
Both sides showed grit on the field, but neither could break through as solid goalkeeping and strong defensive performances kept the match scoreless.
Each squad had six shots on target. With Irvine Valley keeper Sydney Salamoff making five saves and Golden West goalie Sierra making six crucial saves to deny IVC's attempt to find a late-winning score.
The Rustlers controlled what they could this afternoon, generating nine shots, with six on target. Olivia Villalba was particularly active for the Rustlers, firing three shots, all of which tested Irvine Valley goalkeeper Sydnee Salamoff.
Golden West's record moved to 4-6-2 overall and 2-4-1 in conference play, while Irvine Valley went to 7-6-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the OEC.
Irvine Valley plays again on Friday when it hosts rival Saddleback at 3 p.m.
