The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team earned its third victory in Orange Empire Conference play with a sweep of Fullerton on Wednesday night at home.
The Lasers came out on top, 25-14, 25-23, 25-16, to improve their record to 3-12 overall and 3-4 in conference.
Freshman opposite Hailey Oldham had 10 kills and sophomore outside hitter Audrey Fowler finished with 14 digs.
Irvine Valley had no problems in the first or third sets.
The second set was closer as Irvine Valley had to battle unbtil the end. The Lasers led, 23-22, before scoring two of the final three points for the win.
In the third set, Irvine Valley jumped out to a 16-10 advantage and never looked back.
Several IVC players had solid matches. Freshman outside hitter Oldham ended with 14 kills, nine digs and three blocks, Fowler contibuted five kills, 14 digs and six aces, sophomore outside hitter Alya Mersin also had five kills and recorded eight digs and three aces.
Sophomore libero Nikki Korneff chipped in 11 digs and freshman setter Alondra Castro ran the offense and finished with 22 kills. She also added eight digs.
Irvine Valley has another home match on Friday. It hosts Santiago Canyon in a conference match at 6 p.m.
