Women's soccer team closes out season against Golden West

The Irvine Valley women's soccer team finished up its 2024 season with a 2-0 defeat against Golden West in an Orange Empire Conference game on Friday at home.

Irvine Valley still finished with a record of 10-10-1 overall, which was the best record for the program since 2014 when the Lasers went 12-4-6 overall.

It was also sophmore day for the Lasers on Friday.

Those celebrated for IVC included Sydnee Salamoff, Faith Hong, Jordan Madison and Jocelyn Quinonez

Irvine Valley fell behind early after a goal by Alexys Lopez in the third minute.

IVC tried to pressure, but Golden West put the game away in the 80th minute on a goal by Alexandra Torres.

Irvine Valley sophomore goalie Sydnee Salamoff finished with four saves.

The Lasers finished the year with a record of 10-10-1 overall and 5-8-1 in conference.

Orange Empire all-conference selections will be posted for the Lasers next week.
