Irvine Valley's men's basketball team played its second solid game in a row and captured its second straight victory on Friday night at Cuyamaca.
After defeating Southwestern, 73-48, at home on Wednesday, the Lasers won, 67-50, at Cuyamaca.
IVC improved its record to 5-2 overall, while Cuyamaca fell to 5-2.
Irvine Valley jumped out to an early lead and was up, 32-19, at the half.
The Lasers did enough in the second half to earn their third victory in the last four games.
Freshman forward Matt Mowers led IVC with 16 points. He was one of three players to score in double figures.
Sophomore Parker Tuttle added 13 points and seven rebounds and freshman guard Allen Moser chipped in 11 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Sophomore guard Ammon Allan added nine points, four rebounds and four assists, sophomore forward Josiah Reed had nine rebounds and sophomore center Ben Starks also ended with nine rebounds.
IVC out-rebounded Cuyamaca, 56-23, in the contest.
Irvine Valley plays again next Wednesday, hosting El Camino at 5 p.m.
