Women's soccer team shuts out Fullerton on the road

The Irvine Valley women's soccer team its record back over .500 (9-8-1 overall) with a 3-0 shutout win at Fullerton on Tuesday afternoon.

IVC also moved its record to 4-6-1 in the Orange Empire Conference.

The Lasers led, 1-0, at the half after a goal by freshman midfielder Kuuipo Laumatia off of an assist from freshman defender Lilliana Springer in the 44th minute.

Irvine Valley put the game away in the second half with two more goals.

Sophomore forward Jordan Madison scored in the 50th minute off of another assist from Springer.

And then freshman forward Nikki MacDonald finished the Lasers' scoring in the 87th minute off of a feed from freshman defender Izzy Rodrigues.

IVC sophomore keeper Sydnee Salamoff played the first 70 minutes in goal and made one save. Freshman Joanna Valdez made two saves in the final 20 minutes of the match.

Irvine Valley plays again on Friday at Santiago Canyon in a conference match at 3 p.m.
