Davaughn McCrumb

The MiraCosta men's basketball team is on a hot streak, and the Mesa College Olympians couldn't cool them off. On Wednesday night sophomores Davaugn McCrumb and Isaiah Stokes led the way to secure MiraCosta's first conference win, and their eigth consecutive victory.  McCrumb stuffed the stat sheet with 21 points and eight assists, making big shots and setting up his teammates. Stokes finished with 16 points, shooting an efficient 6-11 from the floor.

The conference game was a tale of two halves. MiraCosta only led by two at the half way mark (26-24), but dominated the Olympians in the second half, outscoring them 38-19. The final score was 64-43, placing the Spartans at the top of the conference standings.

MiraCosta's depth was apparent to any spectators.  Beyond the play of McCrumb and Stokes, Pearse Long had another solid game for the Spartans, finishing with 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks.  Additionally, Terrion Woodard led all players with 11 rebounds, while Ramel Bethea added eight rebounds and three blocks.
