The Skyline Women's Soccer team continues its dominant streak, securing a thrilling 1-0 upset over state-ranked #5 City College of San Francisco on Friday. This decisive win completed Skyline's sweep of its three closest Coast Conference rivals, solidifying the Trojans as the team to beat from San Mateo to San Francisco.
With earlier wins over Canada College (Redwood City) and Foothill College (Los Altos), Skyline has staked its claim as the top team in the region. More importantly, this win pushes Skyline (10-3-3, 5-1-2) into second place in the Coast Conference North Division and strengthens their playoff bid as Northern California's #9 ranked team.
The Trojans, now undefeated in their last eight games, faced off against a formidable CCSF (12-2-2, 6-1-1) squad that had not lost on home turf all season. After a scoreless first half, Sophomore Fabiana Bolanos broke the stalemate in the 67th minute, netting her sixth goal of the season off an assist from Freshman Valerie Latu-Nava.
Goalkeeper Thaily Anderberg delivered a standout performance with seven saves, securing her ninth shutout of the season and helping Skyline notch one of its biggest wins yet. With just four games left in the season, the Trojans will host Gavilan College on Tuesday, November 5th, at 3 pm—don't miss it!
