The Irvine Valley women's soccer team scored another shutout - its fourth in a row on Friday at home.
The Lasers defeated Victor Valley, 8-0, and have not outscored their last four opponents in wins, 21-0.
The eight goals scored by Irvine Valley is the most since the Lasers shut out San Diego City, 8-0, at home on Aug. 30, 2018.
Irvine Valley improved its record to 4-1 on the year. Its next game will be on Friday at a 4-1 College of the Desert team at 5 p.m.
The Lasers out-shot Victor Valley, 27-5, in the contest. It was the most shots IVC has taken in a contest this year.
Irvine Valley got on the board in the 11th minute when freshman forward Nikki MacDonald scored on a laser shot from the right side off a pass from sophomore midfielder Jocelyn Quinonez.
It was a two-goal lead for the Lasers eight minutes later when sophomore forward Jordan Madison knocked in a header off of a cross from freshman midfielder Megan Beal.
IVC went ahead, 3-0, in the 24th minute when freshman Izzy Rodrigues hit a high shot into the back off the net off of an assist by Beal.
Irvine Valley scored again in the 27th minute when Beal finished a penalty kick after being fouled.
And it was a 5-0 game in the 32nd minute after freshman Emily Orosco scored off of a pass from freshman Kuuipo Laumatia.
IVC added one more goal before the end of the first half. Freshman Ashley Reina headed one in off of a corner kick by Rodrigues.
In the second half, Beal (48th minute) and Laumatia (54th minute) each added goals to finish off the scoring for the Lasers.
Sophomore Sydnee Salamoff and freshman Joanna Valdez split the halves in goal. Each player made two saves on the day.
